Upcycle a shirt
I am going to have to slow down on posts to this blog for a few months. I’m on the move and schlepping my sewing machine, boxes of fabric, trims and gadgets around with me is simply not an option.
In the meantime here is a one more post with a picture I took before I left home. The shirt in the picture is vintage. What I was trying to convey is that it is possible to add a row or two of lace or anglaise to a shirt giving it a ruffled feminine look that is so current right now.
I like how prim and proper this shirt is. It would look fabulous juxtaposed with a tough looking item such as a slinky leather pencil skirt or glossy black leggings. Maybe even a darkwash pair of skinny leg jeans or an aviator jacket?
I hope I don’t suffer the effects of re-styling withdrawal too fiercely. Will have to visit the local vintage shops or trawl the Internet to get my fashion fix.
My favourite souvenirs are vintage scarves.
The Greenie Galleries at the top of this page have 100s of photos of older and newer projects showing multiple ways to make your own clothing and accessories. There are also ideas to recycle or upcycle.
See you soon.
