Wall Hanging Laundry Bag

Last week I never posted on this blog. My father passed away. Very sad week for me.

I found the idea for this wall hanging laundry bag on Pinterest. The link was to a blog called – Honey Bear Lane – Live Creatively. And the title of this post is called – Making Laundry Beautiful. Please visit her blog for the original version. She has detailed instructions. I liked her idea but made my own pattern as I wanted a bigger and more square bag. I never bothered to line the laundry bag as per original bag. Nor did I make it a draw-string bag as she did.

This particular Wall Hanging Laundry Bag can be secured to a wall by fitting hooks, or even drawer handles to the wall. I used these door mounted hooks bought from a home supplies store and keep this wall hanging laundry bag on the back of our bedroom door.

My pattern for this wall hanging laundry bag is below. But you can use any dimensions really to fit whatever space you have available.

Wall Hanging Laundry Bag Pattern

You need: –

• fabric
• matching coloured thread
• sewing scissors
• pins
• sewing machine

You do: –

Cut a rectangular piece of fabric. Fold in half. Sew sides. Hem the top.

Cut long thin strips to make tape for your loops. I fold long thin strips of fabric like in the photo below. And then sew them to make tape. Or you can buy tape. Much easier.

How to make tape

The length of the loops is again up to you. Pin them in place. Check the bag plus loops fits your space. Then sew loops to the top of your bag. That’s it. Laundry bag done!

I like that these wall hanging laundry bags use – wall or door space – and not floor space.
