Kochi Jacket 1
I’ve been wanting to make this Kochi Jacket for a long, long time. The pics on Instagram always look so good no matter what weight or drape of fabric is used. It’s very similar to my free sewing pattern – see that here – shared way back in 2014. My version is a shrunken jacket with longer sleeves.
Since the instructions come with the sewing pattern which you buy from Papercut Patterns, I will not give detailed instructions but rather show you is how I sewed this jacket.
If there is one thing I dislike about on-line PDF patterns – it’s having to put them together. Takes flipping forever to trim and line up and stick them to each other.
I will say this pattern is on the large side. I’m normally a Medium/Large depending on the make, but even a Medium was big on me.
It’s winter in Cape Town, and the upside of a roomy jacket is I can wear multi layers underneath.
Also the section where the sleeve and sides sew together needs to be trimmed close to the stitching so the area can open without puckering.
Have a great green week.

Can I just say,I love what you do!! I TOTALLY agree with you about the PDF patterns – they’re a pain. I’ve just looked at the above, and your pictures make so much sense. Some of my patterns that I have bought often seem overly complicated- and I’m not a beginner. I just want to get it done. Thank you!!
