Fireplace Restyle

I cannot claim credit for this fireplace restyle. My seriously handy husband did this job. He also made the wooden bit the three lights are hanging from which you can see in the mirror – AND he made the wine racks to fit in the wall to the left of the fireplace. While I’m bragging of his DIY skills, he also made our – Cheese boards – and a few other things.

I’m a very lucky person.

So when my 30 something daughter said she had no idea we had a fireplace (we’ve only been living in this house 5 years), I realised it obviously lacking oomph. We’d been wanting to do something with it. In our previous home we did a similar restyle but with small tiles that we hand painted. I really wasn’t up to that all over again. So we hunted down these hand painted tiles. Hand painted times are pricey! We chose at the cheapest end.

I’m not going to do a whole post on how to fix tiles to a wall since I never did the job myself.

There must be plenty tutorials on-line showing how. But you can see two pics of how they went up.

I must say I LOVE how this fireplace restyle turned out. Really gives a bit more life into that section of our house.
