Broderie Anglaise Top
This Broderie Anglaise top is made from the exact same pattern as – this top. Click on the link to get the FREE sewing pattern and tutorial. Amazing how different fabrics can completely change the look and feel of a top? It’s a pretty fool proof pattern. And it’s a comfy loose fit top – perfect for a summers day. I used an old sheet for the side panels. And I re-purposed a top that was always a bit snug for the Broderie Anglaise panel bit. BTW if you like the choker, I made that too – click on this link.
You need: –
- my pattern – click on the link above
- fabric – you can make this in only Broderie Anglaise or use two different fabrics like I did to use up off-cuts
- matching colour thread
- sewing scissors
- sewing machine
- tape measure
You do: –
Measure and cut your fabric pieces.
Pin and sew the pieces together.
Press the seams flat with an iron then fold over right sides inside and pin the sides together. Sew sides together. Make a hem around the arm area. And sew hem at the bottom. I had to take this in a bit at the panels as it was a bit too wide. But that’s the beauty of this pattern. You can adjust it as you go. If the neckline is too low. Make a shoulder seam at the top on each side.
Hope you enjoyed this. Always more coming up.
Have a great green week.
Greenie.
