Easy Sofa Cover

This easy sofa cover evolved out of desperation. My other half and I do – Vegan Pop Up Dining – and someone messed a drink on our sofa. I managed to wipe the mark off out but the original denim cover hadn’t been pre-washed and the dye smudged. It looked horrible.

There are some brilliant DIY chair covers out there but I wasn’t up to a major project. We also felt that draping a cloth over the sofa wouldn’t look right. So I set about finding as close a colour match to the sofa material as possible and made a fairly simple thing that covers most of the couch. It’s not ideal but no-one even notices it as the colours are so similar.

How to make the cover

Am not going to give a whole tutorial for this easy sofa cover. It’s really straight forward. You need a piece of fabric wide enough to cover the seating area. And long enough to drape right over from the front to the back of your sofa. Plus you need two side pieces which will cover the arm rests. Remember to allow for hem all around your easy sofa cover when taking measurements.
