Square Camisole
I made this square camisole a while ago and have the benfit of having worn it a few times now. One thing I would do differently is make a fastening at the side. Or make the back in two parts and make an opening at the back of this square camisole. It’s a bit trickly to get on and off. Otherwise I LOVE it.
You need: –
- to make a pattern – see below – my pieces were around 50 cms x 50 cms square – UK dress size 10
- fabric
- matching colour thread
- sewing scissors
- sewing machine
- pins
You do: –
Cut your pattern from your fabric. The back and the front are initially the same size.
Fold over top end of camisole and make a hem. Ten centimetres down from the top end of your camisole fold and pin your darts, which are between 2 – 3 centimtres wide depending on how busty you are. Sew.
Next fold in to shape front of arm area. Sew.
Now take your back piece and fold it down 10 centimtres. Right sides facing inward, pin and sew the sides together.
Pin and sew straps in place. The nice thing about this top is you can make wider straps so you can wear it with a bra. You might have to fit your square camisole top to get the right spot for your straps. Even better, get someone else to pin the straps for you.
Finally hem the bottom of your square camisole. I had to take mine in slightly at the top. And I had to re-do the fold at the front near my arms so it folded nicely next to my straps.
Have a great week.

wen will you post a new post?
Hi Anna
I’ve been a bit bad. This blog will always happen. Maybe not as frequently as I should.
Will post something in the next few days.
