Mixed Medium Necklace
This mixed medium necklace came as a result of buying key-rings in bulk and ending up with far too many. I also had a bunch of rings and bits of chain that I couldn’t do anything with. Unless I strung them all together. Which is exactly what I did. And now I have a favourite mixed medium necklace.
You need: –
- odd bits of chain
- key rings
- any circular pieces – there’s a real ring in there
You do: –
I lay the various bits of chain down and divided each piece into about 5 equal size lengths. Fortunately I had an abundance of O-Rings and key rings so I didn’t have to worry about having enough. But for every piece of chain, you need at least 2 x O-Rings – one at each end – to join them.
If you don’t have enough O-Rings, then you can make your pieces of chain longer. This is a fun thing so play with it. It’s about using up odd bits. You could also add charms to the O-Rings. Or home-made tassels from left-over wool or cotton? You could punch or cut shapes from oddments of pleather and add them? I’ve even made jewellery from food packaging. That’s it from Greenie for this week. See you next week.
