Safety pins on clothes
Adding safety pins to a tank top |
This tank top got a punk inspired make-over. About a season back I saw these divine box jackets at Topshop with loads of safety pins all over them. This is a home-made and much simpler version of that safety pin effect.
I placed the vest on a flat surface and decided on a circular design, if you can call it that. I divided the safety pins up into three similar amounts. Then pinned them into circles, each time making the circle wider. Easy peasy!
I teamed it with a plain white shirt, spoke about how I get them on the cheap in another post. The pearls I put together in about half an hour. I bought a bag of plastic pearl beads and some hat elastic. I strung all the pearls onto the hat elastic and knotted it. Because the elastic is flexible I can slip the pearls over my head easily and they sit close to my neck and have a choker effect.
The pearls with punk combo is a nice way to buy into an edgy look halfheartedly.
