Hanging heart decoration
These little stuffed hearts are very Scandinavian and make nice house gifts. I make a few at a time. They are an extra to add as a gift with a bottle of wine.
They consist of two pieces of fabric cut in a heart shape and a length of narrow ribbon.
Stitch the two heart shapes almost around. Leave a small section open to fill with stuffing. Fabric offcuts, finely shredded, make great stuffing. Finish the hearts by hand stitching them closed.
Finally, using a thick wool needle, thread the fine ribbon through the top of the heart and knot securely in place. Tie the two ends of the ribbon together.
The heart looks best hanging from the knob of a cupboard door or a key hole.
