Doorstop tutorial

How do you like this? A custom designed doorstop. Doorstops are one of those items a person can never find in the shops. And one of those things that is so useful. This particular door is set high off the floor so the likelihood of ever finding a doorstop to fit this door is impossible.

But ever keen to use up leftover fabric, I set out to make my own doorstop. I cut two matching squares and then fabric to join the squares together. It is a cube shape.  I made the basic cube and left a small piece open to allow me to insert the filling.

The filling for this doorstop was beach sand. I went down to the beach with a garden trowel and filled the cube. The final part was to hand stitch the cube closed.
