Greeting card tutorial
Today’s item is not exactly something one can wear. But it does require sewing. In the picture are cards that I make out of offcuts of ribbon, tape, paper and fabric. Anything really.
I use plain white A4 paper and fold it in half and fold it again into quarters. The cards fit perfectly into a standard envelope and I keep the inside plain so they can be used for birthdays or gifts or whatever.
Then using bits that would normally get thrown away, I cut and trim them to fit the front of the card and either glue or stitch them in place. Sometimes I also use a fancy stitch on my sewing machine to add a bit of variety. Use a thin needle and wide spacing on your sewing machine or you will puncture the card heavily and cause it to perforate.
The Greenie Galleries at the top of this page have 100s of photos of older and newer projects showing multiple ways to make your own clothing and accessories. There are also ideas to recycle or upcycle.
See you soon.
