Knotted chain necklace
Back to necklaces with this post. This was a take on the Givenchy necklace that was a hit a season or two back. Madonna stepped out in a similar necklace. I bought quite a lot of fine chain.
I laid it out and untwisted it so it lay nice and flat. I checked the length I wanted the chain to be with some string and took that exact measurement and made an O shape with it on a flat surface.
I then laid out the chain to fit the O shape and layered the chain over and over till it was used up. Any leftover bits that don’t quite fit into the shape can be cut off. I made a knot at the one side to hold the chain in shape. And that was it. The chain is so fine that the knot holds easily.

Layering necklaces to achieve an extra chunky and playful effect has been in style forever. Coco Chanel sported this look in the 40's and 50's while Madonna reinvented tthe vibe in the early 80's.
